Starting in mid-March 2018, FELPS will be reading our customer’s meters by using a contracted firm called Texas Meter & Device Co. (TMD), (pictured above). This will occur over the next three years while a new Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) System is deployed and existing FELPS employees are trained for other job duties to help with our growth. This will allow FELPS to use existing staff to fill the needs of other areas, allow for better information to our customers on their usage in the near future, enable for more billing options in the near future, and provide for better load information that will assist our staff in determining the needs of the electrical distribution system before issues arise.
