Job Summary
Assists Level II and III Drone Pilots with unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flight missions supporting the inspection, assessment, and documentation of electric distribution infrastructure. Performs pre-flight preparation, equipment setup, basic UAV operations, and post-flight data management under the direction of senior drone personnel. Supports the identification and documentation of infrastructure conditions, including aging equipment, pole conditions, wire integrity concerns, vegetation encroachment, and other potential issues requiring further review.
Responsible for organizing, processing, and cataloging collected drone imagery and associated data using Esri ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro software. Assists with updating GIS asset information, maintaining accurate field records, and performing non-drone data collection activities as needed to support engineering, operations, and maintenance initiatives.
Creates and updates service orders within dispatch software and utilizes mobile field applications on iPads to document completed work, collect field information, and ensure accurate asset records. Assists with focused UAV missions supporting engineering projects, system assessments, emergency response activities, and operational needs.
The Level I Drone Pilot is expected to develop foundational knowledge and skills in UAV operation, FAA requirements, GPS technology, GIS workflows, and electric utility infrastructure inspection practices. The employee will work collaboratively with senior drone pilots and GIS personnel while actively pursuing opportunities to expand technical expertise and operational capabilities.
Employee reports administratively to the Chief Technology Officer and receive functional guidance, training, and flight assignments from Senior Drone Pilots.

The groundskeeper plays a key role in ensuring the grounds are well maintained for employees, visitors, and customers.
